Prokaryotic Cells And Eukaryotic Cells
Prokaryotic Cells and Eukaryotic Cells
These are types of cells, based On Structure Types Of Cell
Two types of cell based on structure
• Prokaryotic Cells
• Eukaryotic Cells
Prokaryotic Cells
The word prokaryotic is formed by the combination of two Greek word - Pro and Karyon.
Pro means- Before, Karyon means- Nucleus, Prokaryotic means- Before Nucleus.
Such cells which lack a true nucleus are called prokaryotic cells.
• Prokaryotic cells are found in most unicellular organisms.
Like- Amoeba, Bacteria, Archaea, Cyanobacteria( Blue Green algae)
• Its size ranges from 1 micrometer to 10 micrometer.
• The respiratory system is located in the plasma membrane.
• The photosynthesis system is present in the membrane and chloroplasts are absent.
• It contains 70s types of ribosome.
• There is no sexual reproduction in them.
• In these, cell division occurs by fission or budding.
Eukaryotic Cell
The word Eukaryotic is formed by the combination of two Greek word - EU and Karyon.
EU means- Well developed, Karyon means- Nucleus, Eukaryotic means- Developed Nucleus.
Such cells which a true nucleus (Developed Nucleus ) are called Eukaryotic cells.
• Eukaryotic cells are found in most multicellular organisms.
• Its size ranges from 10 micrometer to 100 micrometer.
• The respiratory system is located in the mitochondria.
• The photosynthesis system is present in chloroplasts.
• It contains 80s types of ribosome.
• There is sexual reproduction in them.
• In these, cell division occurs by Mitosis or Meiosis.
